Treasures of Dalt Vila
Poppy Faun | Malvina Kang Hughes | Jesús de Miguel | Chloë Phoebe| Jenna Bitar Treasures of Dalt Vila brings together the work of Malvina Kang Hughes, Jesús de Miguel, Chloe Phoebe, Poppy Fawn, and Jenna Bitar, rooted in the rich history and atmosphere of Dalt Vila, the exhibition unfolds as a journey through an ancient city: wandering its winding stone streets, tracing its hidden passages, and unexpectedly stumbling upon treasure. Here, the treasure reveals itself in the form of artworks, intimate discoveries embedded within the walls, textures, and spirit of the castle that surrounds our gallery.
For In-between Ibiza, this exhibition is deeply personal, Dalt Vila is not only our home but a constant source of inspiration: a place of immense beauty, centuries of history, stories, culture, memories, and hope. Treasures of Dalt Vila is a love letter to this extraordinary place, an ode to the enchantment and mysticism of the castle we are grateful to call home.
Inviting artists to respond to Dalt Vila felt both natural and meaningful. Across painting, gesture, abstraction, process, and natural pigments, the exhibition explores a deep engagement with materiality, place, and emotional presence.
For the artists, abstraction becomes a language through which to decode experience: a way of expressing what cannot easily be spoken. When language begins to feel limiting, painting opens into a space vast enough to hold memory, instinct, and emotion. Their practices move between the emotional and the earthly, creating compositions that echo aerial landscapes, fragments of memory, ancient terrains, and buried narratives waiting to surface.
Guided by intuition and emotion, the works in Treasures of Dalt Vila reflect long-standing interests in freedom, introspection, joy and the search for hope. Each piece offers its own hidden world and together, the exhibition invites viewers to slow down, wander, and encounter moments of wonder within the ancient heart of Dalt Vila itself.
