In between Ibiza is opening its doors to a party of another dimension, ‘A Shot in the Dark’,  celebrating the journey of Australian photographer capturecharles - from shooting candid film photographs in local dancefloors to working globally with leading DJs and venues at the forefront of nightlife culture. His art has positioned him at the centre of an international scene, working alongside some of the most influential figures in global club culture. Yet the essence of the work remains grounded in people - in shared experience, in movement, in presence, collective momentum and individual expression. Individually, the photographs are dynamic and visceral, charged with euphoria, together, they form a wider portrait of nightlife as a site of connection, where culture is created in real time. Presented in Ibiza, the exhibition resonates within a place that continues to champion harmony, expression, and the unifying spirit of the dancefloor.

Rooted in intuitive documentation, his candid shots on film capture the environments and people that shape contemporary music culture, capturing both the energy and beauty of large-scale events and the intimate, unseen, off-stage exchanges behind them. Through this process, he reinforces the authenticity of the environments he inhabits, translating moments of chaos into deliberate composition. The result is a compelling document of celebration, championing the underlying sense of community and connection that sustains it.

From early experiments in Australia to an expansive global archive, A Shot in the Dark pays homage to the freedoms, creativity and collective energy found after dark.

In Between Ibiza is proud to celebrate the artistry of contemporary photography through a body of work that captures the raw intensity and authentic joy of a culture that continues to shape how people gather, celebrate and express themselves around the world.
