Maija Carr

Maija Carr is a Finnish-British textile artist and Central Saint Martins graduate, working primarily in tapestry weaving and natural dyeing. Rooted in her Nordic heritage, her work embraces simplicity, sustainability, and a zero-waste philosophy. She often uses repurposed yarn and plant-based dyes to create tactile, meditative pieces that reflect a deep connection to nature.

Now based in Ibiza, Maija draws inspiration from the island’s raw landscapes and organic textures. Her recent work is influenced by her collaboration with fiber artist Aline de Laforcade in San Mateu d’Albarca, where traditional techniques meet contemporary sensibilities.
